Bicycling Skills 123 InstructorsThe program has two levels of instructors certified by the League: Youth Instructors and Skills Instructors. E-mail Alissa Simcox to find out how you can become an instructor. Youth Instructors, typically volunteers, are certified to teach the League's Cycling Skills clinic to children in parking lot settings. This program concentrates on teaching good bike handling skills and modifying children's behavior to become safe and conscientious bicyclists. Skills Instructors, typically NBDA member employees, are certified by League Certified Master Instructors to teach children's clinics and the Cycling Skills Adult and Cycling Skills Commuter classes to adult riders. These programs are designed to help learning and returning adult cyclists become proficient in basic handling skills and acquire the knowledge they need to enjoy commuting and using their bikes for utility trips in the neighborhood. |
