The Bicycling 123 Youth guide outlines 13 stations — four administrative stations and nine activity
stations - but not all of the stations will be used at every Cycling Skills Clinic.
Tip: There should be about 10 participants for each course.
New cyclists or those coming
back to cycling after years
off the bike frequently are
uncomfortable with basic bicycle
handling skills like signaling, turning
and stopping. Before they can feel
comfortable riding on trails or in traffic
they can benefit from practice on their
bicycle in a relatively quiet setting, like
a parking lot.
These basic handling drills are
designed to allow a cyclist to feel more
confident handling their bicycle.
