Community Highlights: Sioux Falls has one of the best urban bicycle trails in the country. The trail, which loops the entire city, is considered one of the most popular recreational assets in the community and has also become a very important transportation route for bicycle commuters. The trail is also a regional draw for tourists; thus, providing an economic benefit to the community.

Most Recent Significant Accomplishment: Sioux Falls completed a new 2 mile section of bicycle trail, they also added a first round of dedicated bicycle lanes, sharrows, and shared bicycle/parking lanes.

Activities that Promote Bicycling: The City hosts an Annual Bicycle Rodeo for kids, Annual Bike to Work Day events, and a Downntown Criterium. The City is also taking part in an an on-street bicycle facility pilot project in which the city has tried sharrows, bicycle lanes and shared bicycle/parking lanes.
