Community Highlights: Santa Clara has demonstrated a long standing record of committing local resources towards both improving and maintaining the bicycle facilities within the community. The city has invested over $20 million towards bicycle facilities in the past 15 years and has also successfully secured outside sources for funding. This global approach also includes planning and partnering with neighboring communities and regional bodies to coordinate efforts towards creating facilities that provide better access beyond the community's borders. Santa Clara has expanded bicycle infrastructure development in order to increase connectivity including extending bicycle lanes and the Creek Trail network. The city has implemented bicycle accommodations at intersections including bike signal heads, loop detector markers and timed signals for bicycles.
