Recent bicycling investment: The City of Port Townsend adopted the Non-Motorized Transportation Plan Supplement, updating the 1998 Plan with projects, tools, and information specific to today.

Bicycling highlights: The City of Port Townsend has an excellent cycling environment, including an extensive network of trails and a compact urban form that enables car-free living.
Motorist respect bicyclists and pedestrians, because many of them also bike and walk.
Port Townsend is a growing cycling community with increasing participation in Bike to School Days, bicycle commuting, bicycle education and growing bicycle recreation opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels.

Percentage of arterial streets with dedicated bicycle facilities: 68%

Bicycling education in 40% elementary schools and 100% middle schools

Signature cycling events: Rhody Ride; Fort2Fort Ride; Longest Day of Trails; Pedalpalooza; Kinetic Sculpture Race (and bicycle ride)

Some coming bicycling improvements: The City will continue developing its trails network connectivity and install additional bicycle racks downtown.
