Bicycle Friendly CommunityMenlo Park, CA | Bronze Level
Community Highlights: Four bicycle related studies were approved and funded by Menlo Park City Council for the past fiscal year. This included a Bike Lane Mitigation Study, a Bike Lane Feasibility Study identifying streets that may support a bike lane with the change in lane widths and parking, a School Trip Reduction Study to develop a tool kit for different methods of reducing individual trips to school and a final study to develop alternatives to improve the safety along the section of Sand Hill Road. Menlo Park has a Safe Routes to School program at almost every school in the city, resulting in infrastructure improvements such as separated asphalt walkways, lighted crosswalks and curb ramps. The Wayfinding signs program identifies destinations within the city such as a library, Train Station, city hall and bike bridges. |
