Community Highlights: Calistoga is commited to promoting bicycling as an alternative means of transportation and a great recreational past time to residents and tourists alike. Bicycling education is started early with every school within the Calistoga Joint Unified School District by participating in the Safe Routes to School program. Bi-annually, the Calistoga Elementary School provides a safety program culminating in the bicycle rodeo.

Most Recent Significant Accomplishment: In 2007, the City adopted its current Bicycle Transportation Plan (BTP). Since then the City has created an employee bicycle incentive program, installed bicycle parking facilities, developed a Class I, bike path segment, developed a bicycle map and supported the County's efforts to conduct a Coutywide Greenway Feasibility Study.

Current Activities to Promote Bicycling: Calistoga promotes Bike to Work Day, April Fools -a fundraiser for alocal clinic, Bike Circus - Kids educational event, and Tour of California -AMGEN.
