Highlights: As part of the Virginia Commenwealth University's (VCU) efforts to create a sustainable campus environment, supporting bicycling as an alternative form of transportation has emerged the key elements of transportation planning concerns. While the university drafted its first climate action plan, the administration had already begun to move toward a more sustainable campus through a variety of initiatives, including adding more bicycle racks on campus in order to increase the mode share of bicycling.

 Most Significant Recent Accomplishment: A State of Cycling Report is intended to give the VCU community a clear picture of cycling on campus and provide recommendations for policies, programs and infrastructural improvements that can help bolster cycling rates at VCU.

Most Compelling Fact: VCU recently invested roughly $300,000 in bicycle parking.
