California State University, Long Beach| Silver Level

University Highlights: California State University Long Beach (CSULB)'s Rideshare Sustainable Transportation Program  provides over $1 Million annually in funding for infrastructure, programs and services for bicyclists, pedestrians, transit riders, vanpoolers and carpoolers. The program staff is dedicated to providing comprehensive and personalized services for students and staff, including information and advocacy, grant writing, and community networking to better meet the needs of all campus bicyclists. CSULB takes a holistic approach to encourage and sustain comprehensive bicycle programs and services. CSULB has established collaborative relationships with other local public and private entities that come to campus to promote cycling: JAX Bicycles comes onto campus each month to provide free bike safety checks and tune-up services; Members of Long Beach Cyclists who are LCI's teach Traffic Skills 101 on campus each month free of charge for CSULB faculty, students and staff; and CSULB proudly participates in the City of Long Beach's annual Bike Festival with a safe cycling booth. In addition, CSULB provides showers and lockers for its students and staff who commute by bicycle. Also, all CSULB faculty, staff and student workers who bike to work earn $1/day reward points for cycling, which they can cash in for a variety of gift cards, including $25 cards for JAX Bicycle Shop. These efforts help CSULB cyclists feel a sense of community throughout the campus and the city.

Most Compelling Recent Bike Related Accomplishment:
CSULB's most significant investment for bicycling this past year has been the research and development of the Campus Bicycle and Pedestrian Circulation Plan. The study was conducted by Fehr and Peers Consulting Group.

Most Compelling Fact: CSULB is excited to have successfully been awarded funding for a Public Bike
