Application Process

The BFS on-line application must be filled out with the cooperation of the state Bike/Ped Coordinator. Click here for a pdf version (for reference only).

Applications must be submitted through our on-line process on or before March 5, 2012.  States can also submit additional information and pictures to give the League a more comprehensive picture of bicycling. Information should be sent to Matt Wempe, the League's State and Local Advocacy Coordinator.

State ranking determination

All 50 states will be ranked annually based on their responses to the ranking questionnaire and are reviewed and scored by a committee of experts, League staff, and local cyclists in the state. The League staff work with state coordinators to provide technical assistance and encourage continual improvements.
