World of Bikes | Silver Level

Business Highlights: All employees bike to work, even store owners and managers, demonstrating their commitment to the cycling.   Employees receive $2/day of riding that is in the form of store credit.  The store houses a fleet of bike of ‘fun’ bikes for use in running errands, lunch, coffee, etc. World of Bikes is centrally located only a few blocks from the central business district and a major university campus, so most customers can also bike there.  The store works closely with local government and advocacy groups to increase the safety and presence of bicyclists in Iowa City.  The store owner and other employees give input to city and county governments, work closely with the Iowa Bicycle Coalition and the local mountain bike club.   World of Bikes also helps spread bicycling to new riders by attending corporate fairs, supporting valet bike parking for non-cycling events and attending many school activities. They also host a number of classes for all levels including commuter clinics, bike rodeos, safe riding and maintenance classes.
