Business Highlights: TriSports.com showers their employees with demo bikes, prizes and commuter breakfasts in order to promote biking to work. All commuters gain store credit per mile that can be used towards any purchase in the store. They also have a company owned demo bike benefit, which are assigned to employees who bike commute and participate in group rides. These benefits increase the longer one works for the company. They have a race reimbursement benefit that allows employees to enter events and get reimbursed for their entry fee and travel. TriSports.com’s office location and accessibility was a priority to increase bike commutes to the store and have a stronger impact on community members - located along a bike route system, with adjoining bike lane streets and nearby bike paths. The building currently houses a locker room, shower, bike repair station and maintenance supplies and is undergoing a quarter-million dollar renovation to incorporate additional bike parking for customers and employees. The TriSports.com building serves as a free meeting space to local clubs, groups and government to provide talks on safe riding and bicycle handling skills. The store also provides free maintenance courses for local bike police. As title sponsorship of a local racing team/cycling club, they are working to educate and ease new riders into the sport. TriSports.com has committed to keeping a stretch of road clean and safe for cyclists through the Adopt-a-Road program. Most Significant Recent Bike Related Statistic: The company goal is to reach over 30,000 miles per year of alternative commuting (bicycle or running). There is a bike commuter league that creates teams to compete for the most bike trips and miles in order to win monthly and annual rewards. Most Significant Recent Bike Related Accomplishment:TriSports.com is a large sponsor of the Junior El Tour cycling program. This program selects at-risk youth who may not be able to afford a bicycle, and gives them the bicycles and accessories necessary to complete a 35-mile bike race.
