Business Highlights: Each year The Standard partners with the Community Cycling Center for an annual bike drive and a "Day of Caring,” during which employees volunteer their time to help clean and assemble bikes that will be donated to children during the holiday season. Additionally, each year the business promotes and participates in the Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s (BTA) Bicycle Commute Challenge. This includes having a representative from the BTA educate interested employees on the basics of bike commuting. The Standard awards Bike Commute Challenge participants and winners through company purchased prizes. The workplace has safe, secure, state-of-the-art parking facilities for bike commuters. Activities related to bicycle commuting are managed through a partnership between volunteers, the full-time Sustainability Manager, and Human Resources. Upper management is aware of their efforts and is in full support.
