Business Highlights: Salt Lake City Bicycle Co. treats employees well by providing them with commuting incentives and a strong training program to most effectively work with customers.  Employees are given cash incentives to bike commute and are offered secure bike parking.  The store acknowledges bike to work day with breakfast for commuters and participation in the commuter challenge. SLC Bike Co. goes into the community for Bike to Work month to host social rides, maintenance clinics, and distribute bicycling information.   With the goal of incorporating cycling into the lives of Salt Lake City residents, the store maintains an employee bike club, organizes rides, and sponsors a bike team as well as individual riders.   The store offers monthly safe riding classes, bike maintenance clinics, and driver safety classes.  They worked with the Bicycle Bonanza event last May, giving both a financial donation and about 30 hours of volunteer time.  The store has only 1 car spot, 15 bike spots and is situated adjacent to bike lane streets. There is a small fleet of shared store bikes that are used for employees, government events and local leaders to woo potential businesses to move to the city.  SLC Bicycle Co makes an effort to work with local government and leaders to influence bicycle use.
