Business Highlights: SAA has 100 percent participation in Bike to Work Week.  The empty car parking lot is stunning to see.  Employees also notice that cyclists generally appear happier and are less susceptible to traffic delays during the morning commute. There are bicycling ambassadors to make it easy for new riders to feel comfortable and provide an array of casual and sporting rides after work to grow camaraderie and allow cyclists to mature and feel comfortable riding in traffic.  A series of artistic bicycle racks were installed outside the employee entrance within 25 feet of the door. This location is lighted and is on an improved concrete surface. Bicycle lockers were added in 2008 and provide a safe location for long-term storage and for covered parking during rain or ice events. SAA has implemented the Commuter Tax Credit program and has developed recording instruments to assist users in logging hours. Users plan on contributing a portion of their earnings toward enhanced on-site tool and maintenance equipment for company-wide use.
