Business Highlights: Revolution does more than just sell bikes and accessories; they promote safe bicycling as a means of commuting and exercise for both customers and employees.  They provide promotional in-store hand outs, support cyclists at two pit stops on Bike to Work Day, arrange social rides and distribute bicycling information.  They also promote riding by hosting an employee bike club, sponsoring a bike team and individuals, and organizing social rides.  Revolution hosts safe riding and maintenance classes, sometimes as frequent as every week.  They train their staff in bicycle safety and information to increase participation in the sport and to provide a better experience for all of their customers. Revolution believes that bike accessibility is imperative and thus carefully chose their locations to benefit both employees and customers. The store hosted BikeOctoberfest in 2008, which brought together approximately 1,500 people and 30 vendors for a weekend in October to promote cycling participation and advocacy. They also invest a significant amount of their resources on an ongoing basis to provide tech support for various community and charity events in their community, such as Bike DC and Bike to Work Day. Revolution works with Arlington Transportation Partners, Washington Area Bicyclist Association and participates in the National Bike Summit to build local advocacy programs. They have also recently created a marketing department that is focused on continuing to increase their advocacy efforts.

Most Compelling Bike Related Accomplishment: Revolution works to expand the bicycling community by addressing specific groups and needs.  They host group rides for beginners, winter clinics on safe and comfortable riding in cold conditions and women's nights to educate women on specific cycling needs.
