Business Highlights: One of the goals of Race Pace Bicycles is to portray the bicycle as a way of life.  They promote bicycle use for a very wide variety of means other than commuting including leisure, touring, recreation and competition.  The store provides shower and locker facilities for employees, as well as the commuter tax benefit and participation in the guaranteed ride home program.  They participate in online bicycle commuter challenges (www.greenlightride.com) and track employees' commutes in order to reward the most frequent commuters.  A fleet of bikes is available and frequently used. The store provides maps of local routes, bike paths, and multi-use trails, and displays information on local bike events. Race Pace Bicycles sponsors local advocacy organizations' events through mechanic support, financial or product contribution, and event promotion.  The store sponsors several clubs and teams including the nationally ranked Kelly Benefits Strategies racing team. They host indoor cycling in the winter season, hold weekly free tire repair classes, provide prizes and support for numerous cycling and triathlon competitions throughout the season, and lead 3-5 group rides from the shops weekly. They have partnered with the University of Maryland for a number of projects, such as helping a cartography class with bicycle related map projects, collaborating with groups of engineering students who are annually asked to produce a "cordless drill powered bicycle" and sponsoring the University cycling club.   Several members of the Race Pace staff are also avid bicycle tourers, and they frequently recruit cyclists for multi day trips abroad. Finally, Race Pace is a major collection center for the charity www.bikesfortheworld.org.  They work with One Less Car in Baltimore, MD on advocacy and are a gold sponsor of Mid-Atlantic Off Road Enthusiasts and BBC Baltimore Bicycling Club.

Most Significant Bicycle Related Accomplishment: Race Pace Bicycles opened the nation’s first all women's bicycle shop, with a stock a variety of commuter specific products.  They also host women's only repair clinics and riding and nutrition seminars.
