Business Highlights: Mast General Store has noted improved employee health, increased morale and a reduced carbon footprint with their increasing number of bike commuters. Employees that ride receive recognition for their efforts, including a story that was in the local newspaper and picked up by the wire and run nationwide.  This also serves as inspiration for other businesses and employees around the country.   Mast Transit program allows employees to earn $4 per day commuting by bike to work.  Employees have the opportunity to purchase bicycles and equipment through the Annual Employee Wellness benefit.  The store is located along bike lanes, allowing for easy access to the greenway system. Riders are also constantly reminded of the Commuter Safety Tips, which are posted on the employee bulletin board at the store.  Seasoned bicycle commuters are often sharing information, tips and encouraging new commuters.  The company supports National Bike Month by promoting events through an internal company newsletter as well as posters on employee bulletin boards.  Mast General Store is a partner and sponsors events with Smart Trips, a division of the City's transportation system, to raise awareness of bicycle commuting and sponsors the Tour de Lights at Christmas time.  Smart Trips’ Tour de Lights, a fun event in December sponsored by Mast Store, highlights commuting.   Mast Store is continuously looking for more ways to improve the company's bike friendliness.
