Business Highlights: The League of Michigan Bicyclists is a statewide advocacy group dedicated towards the goal of safe bicycling.  Employees are devoted to the cause both in their work and personal lives, such as bike commuting.  The staff is keenly aware of issues facing bicyclist because of their daily commuting habits.  There is a bike for the office that is used to run errands to the post office, bank and state capitol which are all within one mile of the office. They also have a trailer for it that allows employees to carry larger items. The office houses a bike repair station with maintenance supplies, a dedicated bike maintenance person and offers bike maintenance and safety classes.  The office is located with direct access by trail and within a bike route system, encouraging employees and visitors to bike to the League’s office.  New employees are provided with information on finding bike routes, safe bicycling, proper equipment and a calendar of events.  The League of Michigan Bicyclists promotes all bike to work/smart commute activities through print, email and website.  They also host social rides, distribute bicycling information and sponsor a community ride for National Bike Month. Their staff and board members work with groups across the state to improve bicycling.
