Business Highlights: For Bike To Work Day, KTU+A hosted a pit stop, raffled prizes, and paired employees with new cyclists to help commute. They participated in a corporate commuter challenge and ranked second for small businesses. KTU+A has implemented a Alternative Transportation Commuter Program benefit for employees who commute by bicycle, every quarter they raffle a $50 gift card to participants the Program. They have lunch time rides and walks, Friday afternoon rides and holiday rides down the coast for employees.  They also provide flex-time so employees can more conveniently incorporate bicycle commuting into their day. There are U-locks for employee use, to eliminate the need for commuting with heavy locks. KTU+A has three LCIs on staff that teach Safe Riding skills classes to employees. The firm promotes cycling through e-mails, flyers, articles and during companywide meetings. There is an office-wide scheduling software program to publize dates and times of company walking and cycling events. They have generously supported local non-profit advocacy organizations including the San Diego County Bike Coalition, the San Diego Mountain Biking Association (SDMBA) and WalkSanDiego over the past 15 years.

Most Compelling Bicycle Related Accomplishment: As part of the process of purchasing their own building in 1999, KTU+A performed GIS analyses to determine the optimal location to reduce commuting distance for employees.  They remodeled the building to incorporate showers, a locker room and bike rack.
