Bicycle Friendly BusinessGahanna YMCA of Central Ohio| Bronze Level
Business Highlights: As a community organization, the Gahanna YMCA is prepared to take the lead as a business willing to share best practices and go throughout the community sharing this information with residents. They participate in a commuter challenge for bike to work day and sponsor social rides and a maintenance clinic for Bike to Work Month. The Gahanna YMCA runs a Tri-Club with a free clinic and guided rides. They have board members, staff, and volunteers that work on the community bicycle advocacy committee or partner with city-wide bicycle awareness campaigns and provide handouts to visitors on safe bicycling, route finding, and proper gear. The YMCA played a part in bringing the major bicycle trail which runs adjacent to the YMCA. This trail connects two communities (Gahanna and New Albany), which have both worked hard on developing and promoting bicycle trails and bicycle usage. |
