Business Highlights: Family Bicycles works with the Missouri Bicycle Federation, the City of Kansas City, and Missouri’s Bike/Ped Coordinator to actively campaign for safe cycling infrastructure.  The shop distributes information on safe riding, proper equipment and local bicycling events to employees and customers. They promote cycling year round to beginners and recreational cyclists by holding spin classes and bicycle themed movie nights during the winter to keep people in shape and involved. On Bike to Work Day the business provides commuters with breakfast, a CEO led ride, and prizes. Throughout the year there are social rides, maintenance clinics, and distribution of safe bicycling material. They offer the Commuter Tax Benefit for Bicyclists and a substantial employee discount for purchases made through the shop.  Family Bicycles sponsors a Rest Stop on the Trolley Track Trail, a popular biking and walking trail in urban Kansas City, they are also a major contributor to Revolve, Inc. a local nonprofit providing bicycle education to urban youth.
