Bicycle Friendly BusinessEngberg Anderson, Inc.| Bronze Level
Business Highlights: Engberg Anderson sent out a survey when moving to a new office, revealing that employees preferred an office near a bike path, with shower facilities, and LEED certification. Employees and visitors were granted even more bike accessibility and friendliness than requested. Bikes are kept in a large indoor, secure bike room adjacent to the shower and locker room facilities and next to the freight elevator for convenience. They keep record of who bike commutes and how often, through a log in the bike room. At the end of the year, a tally of the chart statistics is presented to the entire staff at an office meeting. They have a core of staff members who ride regularly and are always open to answering questions and helping new riders feel comfortable with their commute. The firm supports cycling in Milwaukee through sponsorship of Bike to Work week, hosting a commuter challenge with breakfast and the use of local bike couriers. As an architecture firm, Engberg Anderson, Inc makes transportation and bicycle friendliness a priority when working with clients. |
