Business Highlights: DS&MG incentivizes employees to ride to work by providing a commuter tax benefit, an office fleet of bikes, and a bicycle commuter challenge campaign using Greenlightride.com. Water bottles, pant-leg straps, light-weight bags, bells and toolkit are provided to each employee to make riding easy and comfortable.  DS&MG sponsors a regional Bike to Work Day program with a $2500 contribution and organizes a popular Bike and Walk to School Day at a different Arlington school each year.  The business also organizes a tracking program to encourage more employees to bike to work.  Access by transit and bike were important factors in the recent relocation of DS&MG, since all employees use these modes frequently. Thirteen Confident City Cycling Classes are held throughout the year and include three levels involving both in-class and on-bike elements. There is also a class for non-riding adults who want to learn how. New riders can be paired with more experienced cyclists who can give them tips on routing, clothing, maintenance and will even meet up with them to ride their routes until they are comfortable. The company has hired two full time staff members to focus specifically on bicycle transportation encouragement and education in Arlington County.
