Crystal City Business Improvement District | Silver Level

Business Highlights: The Crystal City Business Improvement District has four key program areas - Active, Artful, Accessible, and Green; an investment in bicycling well covers all of these missions.  Crystal City BID offers a free gym membership, access to showers for all employees, and cash incentives for bicycle commuters.  The organization hosts a number of events in the community including the U.S. Air Force Cycling Classic and the finish festival for Bike DC - a community recreational ride. The Crystal City BID sponsors Bike to Work Day and help with breakfast and prizes.  The company bike fleet offered to employees is part of a creative lease arrangement through a partnership with Revolution Cycles, an area bicycle shop. Through this arrangement, the Crystal City BID has provided funding for 100 bicycles that are available to BID employees and other area residents, employees, and visitors. Most notably, the Crystal City BID committed to providing funds for the implementation of bicycle share in the Crystal City area. They have also been actively working with the County to add additional bike lane mileage to eliminate gaps in the existing network.
