Business Highlights: This city is defintely walking the walk in their bicycle friendliness. The City of Austin provides a bike share program to their employees, showers (in most buildings), ample bike parking, bike education program, maintenance supplies, a bike club, organized rides, a commuter challenge, commuter breakfasts, and safe cycling material. A good example is set by many of the executive level managers commuting to work by bike.

Most Compelling Bicycle Related Statistic: The employee bike share program, City Cycle, started in March 2009 and has already logged almost 400 reservations for a total of 1323 vehicle miles saved. This saved 1211 pounds of CO2 from being emitted into the air. The bike fleet is also used for in-house Traffic Skills 101 training offered free for employees.
