Their monthly Courteous Mass group rides bring experienced and inexperienced riders together in a safe and educational environment. They produce a free, topographic Bike Map of Athens, which indicates bus stops and bicycle facilities, while also producing frequent, creative special events that focus on the benefits of transit, pedestrian, and cycling infrastructure. Examples include Tour de Sprawl, Multi-Modal Madness! adventure race, Tour de SPLOST, and keynote speaker event. Every investment made by BikeAthens is focused on improving cycling infrastructure. They offer a Bike Recycling Program that refurbishes and distributes hundreds of commuter bicycles to low-income residents of Athens. The 80 volunteers the organization has allows them to get a lot of work done on a limited budget.
