Business Highlights: As a local advocacy organization working to improve conditions for bicyclists, all three Bike Pittsburgh employees bike to work and meetings year round.  The office is intentionally situated along a bike path and within a bike route system.  The office provides bike maintenance supplies and free secure parking for employees.  Bike shop employees and staff teach bike safety and maintenance classes.  New employees are also provided with bike safety information, a calendar of events and assistance with route finding.  The organization further encourages bike commuting by organizing BikePools throughout the city of Pittsburgh to pair veteran cyclists with new riders.  Bike Pittsburgh provides a fleet of bikes for their employees and also uses bike couriers, sponsors a bike team and organizes rides. 

Most Compelling Bike Related Accomplishment: BikePGH has hosted a 10-day long BikeFest every year for the past 5 years. Bike Pittsburgh’s three rivers bike rack design has been adopted as the city's signature bike rack, and their bike map was the first produced of the area in 15 years and has won multiple design awards. The organization also partnered with the mayor's office to install 200 bike racks this year.
