Business Highlights: Bicycling is an essential element of the Architecture firm, Alley Poyner Macchietto.  The two founding partners of the firm, as well as many of the other employees, commute by bicycle regularly.  The firm has a fleet of bikes for employees to use for commuting and running errands.  The firm’s location along streets with bike lanes makes biking an appealing option for employees and visitors.  Temperature regulated bike parking as well as shower facilities demonstrate the incorporation of bikes into building design.  A volunteer technician and circulated information helps newer riders seek out biking routes, develop safe riding skills and participate in local bike events.  Macchietto employees also organize and participate in group rides on weekends, which translate to increased camaraderie and productivity during the week.  The firm serves as a local bike advocate for Omaha, with employees on the Transportation Committee of Omaha By Design and on the Environment task force.
