League Searches for Staff Accountant

The League of American Bicyclists is a national non-profit organization that works through advocacy and education for a bicycle-friendly America on behalf of the nation's 85 million cyclists. The League achieves this through national programs, including: Bicycle Friendly Communities Campaign, bike safety education, Safe Routes to School, National Bike Month and the National Bike Summit from its offices in Washington, D.C.

Primary Responsibilities

The League of American Bicyclists is seeking an experienced staff accountant. Responsibilities include: processing income and accounts payable, payroll (through Paychex), bank reconciliations, grant tracking, financial statement preparation, budgeting, benefits administration, and preparation for an audit of the year-end financials. Also responsible for: oversight of IT consultant and negotiating office equipment contracts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. Must be detail-oriented, able to work independently and able to balance multiple responsibilities and tasks. Must be team oriented with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills. A solid understanding of accounting theory and practice including all applicable standards and regulations. Proficiency in Peachtree required.

Compensation
