The League of American Bicyclists is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works through advocacy and education to create a bicycle-friendly America on behalf of the nation's 57 million cyclists. The League's signature national programs include the Bicycle Friendly Communities campaign, BikeEd (skills training), Safe Routes to School, National Bike Month and the National Bike Summit, all of which are organized from our headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Primary Responsibilities

The League of American Bicyclists is seeking en experienced development director to develop, implement and oversee the organization’s fundraising, especially in the areas of major donors, corporate support and foundations. The League has 25,000 individual members and more than 600 affiliated clubs and local groups. The position reports to the Executive Director, and is based in Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

Required: We are seeking an individual with a proven track record in implementing and managing fundraising programs for individual membership organizations. Experience securing financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations. A minimum of five to seven years of increasing development experience. Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills and the ability to travel domestically.

Desirable: A passion for bicycling.
