Orlando Gets Positive Press For Bike Friendly Efforts

efforts geared towards bicycle friendly community designation

The City of Orlando is getting some positive press for its work to become a better place for cyclists. A recent article in the Orlando Sentinel highlights Orlando's quick rise from one of the worse places to ride to one of the best.

The coverage comes at the same time that Orlando is going through the mandatory bi-annual renewal process for the League's Bicycle Friendly Community designation. In 2004 Orlando was designated a Bronze level community and was praised for it's commitment to new bikeways.

The deadline for the next round of Bicycle Friendly Community designations is August 18th.
