League Names Portland, Ore. a "Platinum" Level Bicycle Friendly Community
(04.29.08) The League of American Bicyclists congratulates Portland, Ore. on achieving platinum Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) status – Portland is the first large city in the United States to gain the designation and joins Davis, Calif as the only other platinum BFC in the country. Join the League at our 2008 Rally (03.14.08) The League has chosen the Maine Bike Rally as the 2008 National Bike Rally. This three-day event features more than 30 rides to choose from, off-road and on-road, some as short as five miles, others 100 miles long. To register click here.

Advocacy

The energy tax credits have been reintroduced in H.R. 5351, (Section 221). H.R. 5351 passed in the House and is awaiting action in the Senate Finance Committee.
