6 Steps to Girl Scouts on Wheels
Last summer, we awarded our first round of Women Bike Mini-Grants to seed and support great grassroots ideas that are helping to close the gender gap in U.S. bicycling.
To make sure these initiatives can inform and inspire similar efforts across the country, we asked each of our grantees to produce a step-by-step Toolkit, so YOU can implement proven programs rather than reinvent the wheel in your community.
Last week, Katie Monroe, the Bike Share Outreach Manager for the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and founder of Women Bike PHL, shared how she made her Women-Bike-funded "Girl Scouts on Wheels" program a success in Southeast Pennsylvania.
During a short webinar she:
- reviewed how the idea for a local bike patch got started,
- shared case studies on how she rolled it out to interested troops and
- shared six steps to create a similar program in your community.
