John Burke, president and CEO of Trek Bicycles, inc. and Tim Blumenthal, executive director of the Bikes Belong Coalition will lead a powerful U.S. bike industry team, including Randy Neufeld manager of the SRAM Cycling Fund, and another Velo City veteran. Sam Adams, Mayor of Portland, Ore. is encouraging a strong delegation from his city to attend – to continue learning the intricate details of bikeway design and catch more of Copenhagen’s cycling culture. Daniel “Scotty” Murdoch is a New York-based partner in the prestigious Patton Boggs law firm and a frequent visitor to Copenhagen – he especially wants you all to explore the beautiful countryside and smaller towns of Denmark that are tailor-made for bike touring. Cara Seiderman, bicycle program manager for the city of Cambridge, Mass. also has first-hand experience living in the city and has used that inspiration to good effect in Cambridge – you’ll want to stick close to her on any of the local tours; she knows a word or two of Danish. Eric Gilliland, executive director of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association has already committed to being in Copenhagen so he can compare one national capital city to another… DC had better shape up before his return! |
