Road I Course

Description: Learn to DRIVE your bike safely and effectively! Current or prospective bike commuters, recreational riders, touring or club cyclists, parents who bike with their family, beginners, and seasoned veterans alike can enjoy cycling more when one knows how to operate a bike smoothly in traffic. Topics to be covered include strategies for how cyclists can be predictable, courteous, assertive, visible, and alert. The course will cover cyclists' legal rights and responsibilities, intersection approaches, lane positioning, different bike facilities and how to navigate them, and basic bike maintenance, among other useful subjects.

Special signup instructions: Dowload the registration form from www.bloomington.in.gov/alternativetransportation, complete it, and remit with payment to the address provided. Registration is limited so register early. Registration and payment must be recieved by October 23rd to be considered.

Equipment required: Bike & Helmet required. Tire levers & tire pump optional. The course includes several hours of outdoor activities and riding so please dress accordingly. A light breakfast will be provided but participants will be responsible for other meals.
