Club Ride Detail"Stone Cold" Coldstone Creamery TourDate(s): Sunday Morning July 12, 2009 11 AM Description: The average medium scoop vanilla ice cream scoop contains about 450 calories. Ridng a bicycle consumes about 450 calories in an hour. This "2-hour" tour throws in a few hills and 18 of the 20 miles of riding before we stop at the Coldstone Ice Creamery in Hillsboro. Who can argue with having one's cake (or ice cream) and eating it too? Riders are of all levels and participate in a 15 minute safety lecture and "ABC Quick Check" before we venture out. The ride covers streets and roads with and without bicycle lanes, and trails through the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District's many parks through the Beaverton area. ************************************************ ******************************************** Join us for a series of free bicycle rides through the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) parks led by WashCo BTC Director and League of American Bicyclists certified cycling instructor, Hal Ballard. Most rides start and end at the Nature Park, are suitable for all levels of bicyclists and are escorted by experienced cyclists. Stops at any of the parks are made on request. CPSC approved helmets required, water recommended. For more information, call the WashCo BTC at 503-356-9740. Most rides start at 11 AM to about 1 PM on the 2nd Sunday of each month.
