About the electionsTo ensure the most fair vote possible, the League has switched to preferential voting. Click here to find out how the voting works. To vote in the elections, you have to be a current member of the League of American Bicyclists as of September 12, 2011. How Nominations Were Gathered The League Governance Committee solicited recommendations for candidates for the 2012 Board elections. The Board of Directors govern and set broad policy and direction for the League. Board members serve three-year terms. Eight are elected nationally by members and seven are appointed by the board. Three member-elected positions are open for this election. How CAndidates Applied:· A person nominated himself/herself—to ensure the candidate understands the requirements and accepts the responsibilities.
