(8.19.08) If you are interested in serving on the League Board of Directors, or if you know someone who would be a good representative for cyclists in your region, the Nominating Committee is now soliciting recommendations for candidates for the 2009 board elections for Regions 1, 4 and 6. Serve as a State Ambassador ! (8.21.08) League state ambassadors will work with board members and staff to provide closer liaison between the regional director and League members, volunteers and affiliated organizations identify issues, challenges, and opportunities for the League to address in relation to its member services and programs; promote member participation in the League; promote League membership, services and programs to people and organizations in their state; and assist their regional director in recommending regional events and award recipients for the national office. We welcome applications – please send a cover letter and resume – through September 15; please send your nomination to bikeleague@bikeleague.org and make reference to “state ambassador” in the subject line of your e-mail.

Bicycle Friendly Business Program Launched
(06.17.08) The League launched the new Bicycle Friendly Business program in Portland, Ore. recently. This program will assist companies that promote cycling programs and recognizing those who lead the way. Click here to learn more.

See You at the Conventions (07.30.08) Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) announced that attendees of the upcoming Republican and Democratic national conventions will have access to 1,000 free bikes, supplied through a partnership with Humana Inc. and Bikes Belong.
